Emergency Notifications and Campus Security Contacts

Update your emergency contact information in Workday and Everbridge

Employees are automatically enrolled in campus emergency notifications through Workday and will receive email notifications about campus incidents. However, you should ensure that your contact information is up to date, so you receive alerts in the event of an emergency to a phone number of your choice. Log in to the Everbridge system to update your information.

Save WSU Spokane Campus Security phone number

Save the phone number of Campus Security – 509-358-7995 – as a favorite in your cellphone, so you can easily contact an officer day or night. In the event of an emergency, call 911 and then contact Campus Security.

Building Safety and Evacuation Procedures

Know your building address, office location, and room number

Know your building’s name and address, your room number, and your office phone number in case you need to communicate them to emergency personnel.

Identify evacuation routes and your Emergency Assembly Location (EAL)

Identify at least two evacuation routes out of the building from your regular work location. In the event of an emergency evacuation, avoid using the elevator. Each building has an Emergency Assembly Location where all individuals should gather in the event of an evacuation. Know your EAL. If you are unsure, ask your floor captain or contact Campus Security.

Campus Safety Equipment and Training Resources

Locate AEDs, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits on campus

Locate the nearest flashlight, First Aid kit, and fire extinguisher in your work area. An AED is located in each facility; find one in your building using our AED Location chart.

Participate in WSU Spokane emergency training and safety drills

When appropriate, participate in any required safety training activities.
