Transforming HealthCare Education

A cutting-edge health simulation curriculum, the Team Health Education Initiative represents WSU’s next chapter in transforming health education and improving the health of all in Washington state and beyond.

Training Tomorrow’s Health Professionals

Despite being one of the fastest-growing industries in the rural west, Washington continues to face health care gaps in nearly every county. With nearly 30% of the health care workforce retiring in the next decade, the need for competent professionals is event greater. Team Health increases WSU’s capacity to train tomorrow’s health professionals to work together to provide the very best care for their patients.

Success Beyond Graduation

Health care is rapidly transforming at a pace only imagined just a few decades ago. Learners must be prepared to navigate complex health settings requiring competency and compassion. WSU’s education model ensures that learners have what it takes to be successful beyond graduation and can provide the personalized care patients need.

Community Partnership

Over 1.3 million people live in Washington’s rural communities and rely on small clinics and local pharmacies for their care. Through community partnership, WSU leads in expanding access to high-quality care, improving health across the state.

Interprofessional Simulation Education

Through interprofessional education (IPE) and simulation, learners work as a team to practice health care dynamics in a safe, low-stakes environment. Research has shown this model can help learners gain both confidence and competence while building essential leadership and critical thinking skills, better preparing them to succeed in their chosen career.
