Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are portable devices designed to analyze a victim’s heart rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock to restore normal heart rhythm.
Under SPPM 2.46, a person who uses a defibrillator at the scene of an emergency and all other persons and organizations providing emergency services under this policy are immune from civil liability for any personal injury that results from any act or omission in the use of the defibrillator. First Aid
According to SPPM 2.42, units must provide first aid kits in workplaces suitable for the occupational workplace and response time of emergency medical services. Supervisors are to ensure appropriate first aid supplies are maintained and stocked. Supervisors are required to review campus safety checklist with employes on first day
