Criteria The Health Sciences Excellence in Interprofessional Education and Scholarship Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates leadership in development and implementation of effective interprofessional learning experiences or scholarship on the effectiveness and impact of interprofessional education. Activities recognized by this award may include outstanding singular accomplishments or a record of excellence over a period of years, demonstrated through one or more of the following: Engagement and stimulation of student interest in team-based healthcare delivery Use of new and innovative teaching methodologies to develop, practice and refine team skills and promote interaction among students from different professions Publication in scientific outlets of original scholarship on interprofessional education and team-based healthcare delivery Integration of health equity and cultural competency training into the interprofessional experiences Eligibility WSU Health Sciences faculty members with appointments in any of the tracks who are engaged in research or scholarship in the health sciences. Criteria The Health Sciences Excellence in Research and Scholarship Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates creativity and innovation in research or scholarship, broad dissemination of findings that will have an impact on health or healthcare, and effective mentoring of students and faculty. Activities recognized by this award reflect a record of sustained accomplishment over a period of years, demonstrated through one or more of the following: Publication in well-respected scientific outlets Evidence of frequent citation by researchers at other institutions Success at winning and maintaining external funding Receipt of patents and licensing or transfer of the technology to the marketplace Acknowledgement of scholarly accomplishment by a professional organization Successful mentoring of doctoral students and/or post-doctoral researchers Eligibility WSU Health Sciences faculty members with appointments in any of the tracks. Criteria The Health Sciences Excellence in Service and Community Impact Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates excellence and significant commitment to service. Activities recognized by this award may include outstanding singular accomplishments or a record of excellence over a period of years. The candidate should have significant engagement in at least two of campus, institutional, community, state, national, or professional service. Weight will be given to candidates who have served on high-impact committees or have held committee leadership positions. Eligibility WSU Health Sciences faculty members with appointments in any of the tracks who are engaged in teaching health sciences students. Criteria The Health Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates creativity and innovation in teaching, a scholarly approach to teaching that Is responsive to student needs and the changes in science and healthcare, and effective mentoring of students and faculty.
