Earning a doctoral degree in nursing is hard enough. Doing so while overcoming a language barrier, health issues and two car accidents makes the journey even more difficult.

To say Jacob Zwierstra’s military experience is well-rounded would be an understatement.

The Health Policy and Administration (HPA) graduate has served in the Air Force, the Coast Guard, the Alaska Air National Guard and will soon join the Navy.

The average age of students is 28 and there is no on-campus housing. The majority of students are at the graduate or professional level.

But that won’t stop the Associated Students of Washington State University Spokane (ASWSUS) from connecting with fellow students and enhancing their experience.
