Undergraduate Programs

WSU Spokane offers five undergraduate degree completion programs. Students interested in these programs must fulfill core requirements and prerequisites at another WSU campuse, a community college, or another accredited institution prior to applying to WSU Spokane.

BS Nursing (BSN)

The pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree prepares students for a lifelong career in nursing practice.

BS Nursing (RN-BSN)

The post-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program educates RNs wanting to advance their nursing knowledge, broaden their perspective of clinical practice, and enhance their leadership potential.

BS Nutrition and Exercise Physiology

The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology (BS NEP) provides an in-depth understanding of the roles of nutrition and exercise in health and disease.

BS Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences

The Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences focuses on unique training that integrates pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences with health policy and foundational career skills.

BA Speech and Hearing Sciences

The Bachelor of Arts Speech and Hearing Sciences degree is pre-professional and serves as a foundation for further study to become a licensed speech-language pathologist or audiologist.

Professional Programs

A professional degree is designed to prepare students to work in a particular profession, often meeting the academic requirements for licensure or accreditation. Prerequisites and admissions requirements may differ from other graduate-level degrees.

Doctor of Education (EdD)

The EdD in Educational Leadership prepares practitioner-scholars for leadership in education at the local, state, and national levels. 

Doctor of Medicine (MD)

The MD program in the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine trains future physicians with ties to Washington who have an interest in serving rural, underserved, historically marginalized, and/or vulnerable populations. 

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

This practice-oriented doctoral-level degree in the College of Nursing is designed for nurses seeking a terminal degree in nursing practice, such as nurses who desire to become advanced practice nurses or those who are seeking leadership positions in a health care setting or organization.

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

The ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences prepares pharmacists to provide patient care in multiple health care settings.

Master Degrees

EdM & MA Educational Leadership

Master’s degree options in educational leadership include the Master in Education (EdM), a non-thesis degree designed for professional educators preparing for leadership positions in K-12 schools, and the Master of Arts in Education (MA), a thesis degree designed for professional educators who plan to subsequently pursue a research-based doctoral program.

Master of Healthcare Administration and Leadership

The Master of Healthcare Administration and Leadership (MHAL) program at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, in partnership with the Carson College of Business, trains current and future health care leaders. Designed for individuals seeking to advance in their health care careers and professionals already in health care leadership positions

MS Coordinated Program and Dietetics, Nutrition and Exercise Physiology

The Master of Science Coordinated Program in Dietetics, Nutrition and Exercise Physiology prepares students to enter the field of nutrition and dietetics as an entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through coordinated didactic coursework and experiential supervised practice.

MS Nutrition and Exercise Physiology

The Master of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology (NEP) degree offers students of all undergraduate disciplines a pathway into nutrition and exercise physiology education and research, preparing them for careers in healthcare, academia, and public health. In this two-year program, students work closely with faculty members on a research topic in the broad fields of nutrition and exercise physiology.

MS Speech and Hearing Sciences

The Master of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS) degree program with specialization in speech-language pathology is a two-year program that centers on the diagnostic and therapy needs of children and adults with speech, language, learning, and hearing disorders.

Master in Teaching

The Master in Teaching (MIT) program is for those who have a bachelor’s degree in a field other than education. The program offers a unique combination of teaching immersion with research-based pedagogy and methods preparation. 

Master of Nursing

The Master of Nursing (MN) program will reopen for applications in fall 2024.

Doctorate Degrees

PhD Mathematics and Science Education

The College of Education’s PhD in Mathematics & Science Eduation prepares educators for professional advancement and opens the world of teaching to people seeking to change their careers.

PhD Nursing

The PhD in Nursing program in the College of Nursing prepares nurse scholars and faculty who teach students and conduct research in personal areas of interest.

PhD Nutrition and Exercise Physiology

The PhD in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology degree offers intensive research and training in the broad fields of nutrition and exercise physiology. Students work closely with a faculty mentor on a research topic with application to clinical, community, or population health.

PhD Neuroscience

The PhD in Neuroscience is a research-intensive program to train students for independent research careers in higher education, industry, and government agencies. Graduate students have the ability to work with leading faculty from multiple departments, colleges, and campuses across Washington.

PhD Pharmaceutical Sciences and Molecular Medicine

The PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Molecular Medicine program provides students with foundational coursework and research experience across a spectrum of basic and translational sciences that support drug discovery, delivery and development. 

PhD Prevention Science

The PhD in Prevention Science program is an interdisciplinary program administered by the Department of Human Development in collaboration with several WSU colleges. Students receive broad training in the area of prevention science and develop specialized expertise through the selection of relevant electives, research, and outreach activities.
