Current Funding Priorities

The Washington State University Spokane campus has identified the following funds as the highest priorities for the campus at this time:

WSU Spokane Student Services Fund

In this rapidly changing environment, we are proceeding with sensitivity and awareness that the health and safety of everyone is our top priority. Many members of the Cougar family have inquired about the best ways to help students facing hardships or experiencing additional needs during this time. Currently this fund is used to provide assistance to students at WSU Spokane to help them with challenges related to COVID-19. Our students and this current situation are weighing heavy on our shoulders and your support is appreciated in helping with these emergency needs such as financial assistance with housing, access to the Campus Pantry, and our Grocery Reimbursement program.

WSU Spokane Chancellor’s Excellence Fund

This fund supports the most urgent needs in teaching, research, and scholarship at WSU Spokane. Unrestricted funds enable quick action in the face of unanticipated needs, and help to ensure continuity in educational and research excellence.

Health Sciences Research Excellence Fund

Research funding has tripled since our founding as a health sciences campus in 2010. This fund supports our faculty and student research efforts. Symposiums, lectures, along with professional development and opportunities to disseminate research are all areas that benefit from your investment.

Vice President of Health Sciences’ Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded annually to health sciences students enrolled in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, nutrition and exercise physiology, and speech and hearing. Scholarship funding enables students to realize the freedom to participate fully in leadership opportunities, research, academic clubs, and civic engagement.

Gleason Institute for Neuroscience

WSU’s Gleason Institute for Neuroscience is taking an integrated approach to research and care for those suffering from ALS and other debilitating neurogenerative diseases. Investment will support research, care, and exposure to adaptive technology for patients, families, and their care givers.
