ASWSUHS Health Fair

The WSU Health Sciences Community Health Fair at Francis L.N. Scott Elementary School is FREE and open to the entire community. It is focused on providing health education and information, activities and demonstrations, screenings to promote awareness of healthy lifestyle habits and disease prevention so people can lead healthier lives.

Free Screenings and COVID-19 Vaccinations

Students from the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will provide the following free screenings:

  • Glucose screenings
  • Blood pressure assessments
  • COVID-19 vaccines provided by the Spokane Regional Health District; vaccines will be available from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Fun Activities

There will be a chance to play some basketball! Firefighters will have their rig in the parking lot, give tours, distribute sticker badges, and talk about what it takes to be a firefighter. There will also be opportunities to win prizes by visiting various Health Fair booths! Come and join us for the chance to win prizes such as a Nintendo Switch, Bluetooth Speaker, WSU swag and more!

Free lunch provided for the first 100 people.

  • Food will be provided to the first 100 people.

Health Fair Goals and Objectives

  1. Help community members get connected locally through the promotion of community health resources.
  2. To increase knowledge of COVID-19 prevention through health education information and immunizations.
  3. Raising awareness of common health risks in America and how to seek proper care and treatment for these health risks.
  4. To increase preventive knowledge through the utilization and display of preventive care methods such as exercise, proper nutrition, and health screenings.
  5. Emphasizing good hand and oral hygiene.
  6. Engaging students and family members in fun activities that promote better health practices
