Safety and Security

Creating a safe and secure campus to allow students, faculty and staff to focus on excellent academics, research and public service.

Crime Prevention Programs

Vehicle theft: Safety officers patrol all campus parking lots. An annual report — based on a survey of vehicles parked on campus — is made to the campus about changes that can prevent some theft, such as keeping personal items out of sight.

Presentations: Seminars and trainings at new student orientations, department meetings, group meetings and Floor Captain trainings are available from Campus Security.

Emergency response tests: fire drills, tests of the Campus Alert messaging system are conducted to make sure the campus is trained.

Emergency response training is ongoing for campus personnel involved in emergency response

Bike registration program: Register your bike with Campus Security and secure it with a U-lock.
